At Polaris we are currently seeking motivated and organised administration apprentices to support our central Learning & Development team

Initially reporting to the Head of Learning & Development the post is full-time with time to be agreed to complete the apprenticeship either at a local college or onsite depending on availability at point of commencing the Apprenticeship.

The role is available to start as soon as possible for the right candidate.

Role Details

Role Responsibilities include but not exhaustive list

  • To support the learning and development team with the administration of statutory and mandatory training, e.g. health and safety.
    • This involves using the organisation Learning Management System called (Learnative)
  • To respond efficiently to enquiries received by telephone and email to the department.
  • To be responsible for the production of training materials, including handouts, registers and with the trainer/facilitator ensuring presentations and materials are up to date.
  • To undertake supporting activities for training such as identifying dates, booking venues and liaising with trainers regarding training activity.
  • To process evaluation forms and produce regular reports for a specific set of programmes using software.
  • To support with the maintenance of a comprehensive system for external training applications and apprenticeship enquiries
  • To process invoices to the department by logging them on our tracker and emailing them to finance
  • To arrange meetings both virtually and face to face, and co-ordinate activity of the training staff and trainers as requested by your line manager.
  • To support the team in the provision of a training service across the organisation, updating the learning management system for all training, as directed by your line manager.
  • To respond to emails and facilitate registration for statutory/mandatory topics.
  • To deal with incoming post, and ensuring that outgoing post is prepared accurately and timely for distribution each day.
  • To provide cover across the department for other administration duties during periods of leave


  • Educated to GCSE level with grades A-C in Mathematics, English and ICT
  • Experience of planning, organising and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines and service requirements
  • Good communication skills (phone/digital/writing)
  • To be able to contribute to team working and to develop good working relationships Ability to manage workload
  • The ability to demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy and to represent the Learning & Development department at all times
