Required on average one Tuesday per month - dates generally set several months in advance

Orange Grove Fostercare is seeking a Care Leaver to be join our Southern Counties Fostering Panel, which are held in Burgess Hill on the third Tuesday of each month

Attendance is paid at a rate of £200 per full day Panel + mileage, or £100 per half day. Attendance at training on average once a year is also paid and can take place at any Orange Grove Fostercare office

Role Details

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • To attend and participate in Panel meetings in accordance with the regulations, policies and procedures of Orange Grove Fostercare, helping to determine the most appropriate outcomes for prospective Foster Carer applications.
  • To prepare for Panel meetings, reading Panel papers carefully, identifying key issues and alerting as appropriate.
  • To contribute to the Panel’s consideration of cases and to the making of clear and well evidenced recommendations in line with your experience as a Disabled person or as someone who has worked closely with Disabled people, preferably within a Care setting.
  • To ensure that all those attending Panel are treated with respect and courtesy.
  • To address diversity issues and promote anti-discriminatory practice at all times.
  • Check and agree draft minutes with other Panel members before they are sent to the Agency Decision Maker.
  • To ensure that issues of concern, in relation both to individual cases and to more general matters are raised as appropriate.
  • To safeguard the confidentiality of all Panel papers and Panel discussions.
