Contract: Full Time, 12-month fixed-term maternity cover
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Bromsgrove and other Polaris locations

If you’re a creative Junior Graphic Designer looking to develop your career and work across a genuinely varied range of projects, this could be the role for you.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and creative designer to join the central marketing team at Polaris Community.

Polaris Community is one of the UK’s largest providers of children’s services, with a diverse community of fostering, education, residential and specialist services operating across the country. This means no two days in our marketing team are quite the same.

Working closely with the Head of Foster Parent Marketing and the wider marketing team, you’ll help bring our campaigns and ideas to life through engaging, high-quality design work across digital and print channels. A key part of your role will be supporting campaigns designed to attract new Foster Parents, alongside projects for brands and services across the wider Polaris Community.

You’ll also act as a key point of contact for design requests from across the organisation. You’ll work with a wide range of stakeholders to understand their needs and turn ideas into effective design work, from downloadable guides and digital campaign assets to signage and collateral for our schools.

This broad and varied role will give you the opportunity to develop your skills, build your portfolio and gain experience across a wide range of brands, audiences and creative disciplines.

We’re also committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance. A number of colleagues within our marketing team work remotely, and this role can also be based remotely, although occasional travel to our Bromsgrove office and other Polaris locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce engaging, high-quality creative assets across digital and print channels to support marketing campaigns and business growth
  • Work alongside the Marketing Director, Head of Foster Parent Marketing and wider marketing team to bring strategies, campaigns and ideas to life through compelling design
  • Create a wide variety of marketing materials, including digital campaign assets, social media graphics, brochures, guides, signage and other brand collateral
  • Work with marketing colleagues and stakeholders across Polaris Community to understand design requirements, develop briefs and deliver effective design solutions
  • Help maintain brand consistency across all design work, ensuring materials adhere to individual brand guidelines and standards
  • Contribute creative ideas and concepts for digital campaigns, websites and wider marketing projects
  • Work independently while collaborating with external agencies and suppliers where required
  • Prepare artwork for professional print production, including proofreading, file preparation and specification checks
  • Support the marketing team with website and digital content by creating and uploading graphics and assisting with content updates
  • Keep up to date with developments, trends, techniques and good practice across graphic and digital design
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities, ensuring work is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines

About You

  • Experience in a graphic design or creative role, ideally within a busy marketing or commercial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of graphic design principles across both digital and print
  • Strong visual judgement and the ability to contribute fresh ideas and creative approaches
  • Ability to interpret briefs and turn ideas into engaging, audience-focused design work
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating effectively as part of a wider team
  • A proactive, resourceful and positive approach to your work
  • Willingness to learn, develop and keep up to date with emerging design trends and techniques

Desirable

  • Experience working within an in-house marketing team or fast-paced creative environment
  • Experience producing digital marketing assets
  • Experience with video, animation or motion graphics
